Simplex Westpile are currently undertaking piling for the new Premier Inn Hotel to be constructed neighbouring the prestigious Ealing Council Offices in Uxbridge Road, Ealing, West London.
With two rigs on site – using a Soilmec CFA piling rig, Simplex Westpile is installing a contiguous piled basement wall consisting of 230, 600mm diameter piles to 23m with a retained height of 10m.
Using a Soilmec rotary bore piling rig, the company is simultaneously installing 130, 600mm and 400mm load bearing piles to depths of 20-23m.
The project consists of a new 9 storey hotel for Premier Inn, part of the Whitbread Group, and an immediately adjacent 5 storey data centre incorporating a 5 metre deep basement, which will be operated by Redwire DC.
Contractor Tydwell Limited under Camran Mirza, CEO, has sub-contracted the project to Mace. The value of Simplex Westpile’s contract is £500k. The project is due for completion in April 2012.
